Commitments to the Community

Job Creation

  • We’ve committed to hiring Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) to develop and build Willets Point

  • Our participation in the HireNYC program will connect local residents to Willets Point job opportunities

  • NYCFC will construct administrative offices in the surrounding area

  • Partnering with community-based organizations on workforce development opportunities.

  • NYCFC headquarters will be at Willets Point and create permanent job opportunities.

Prioritizing Local Residents

  • We’re prioritizing Queens residents when recruiting, training and hiring for construction and operations positions

  • Our affordable residences give priority to Queens residents, persons with mobility, visual or hearing impairments and New York City Municipal Employees

  • We’ve committed to local procurement and contracting for goods, materials and services

Programming

  • We’re introducing expansive open space and community facilities for public use

  • We’re working with local partners to ensure the soccer stadium provides activations all year long, including free community-enriching events and programming

  • NYCFC will develop Queens into a national hub for soccer by expanding NYCFC’s free youth development programming

Sustainability

  • We’re creating a Sustainable Procurement Policy for sourcing goods and services

  • We’ll work with local environmental nonprofits to develop NYCFC’s sustainability plans and policies regarding energy, utilities, materials, biodiversity, waste management, carbon literacy and transportation
